CONSULTATION WITH YOU
Free Consultation – a lot of clients new to portraiture seem to think all a photographer needs is a professional camera and a willing subject. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes and that work starts with knowing you and your family and your needs so we can craft a shoot session that fulfils your needs and, hopefully, exceeds your expectations. Our free consultation gives us the opportunity to get to know you and your family so we can design a service tailored to you. It’s also chance to get to know us better and allows you ask us questions or website may not have answered.

YOUR PHOTO SESSION
Photo Session – Your photo session is where the magic happens, but probably not the way you think. It’s your day and we aim to make you and yours the centre of attraction. Our goal is a relaxed and fun time; a day to be remembered with a smile. We always have to stress to parents (ok, it’s mostly mums) leave posing the children to us, why pay use fort you to do the work?
- You would have received a couple of reminders on how we run the session and tips on makeup, clothing & styling
- If the session is scheduled in your home, we will usually arrive at least one hour from the session to setup and test our equipment and need another hour after to purchase up. If your session is in our studio, we would typically need you to arrive at least 15 minutes before your session.
- After the session, you will receive a reminder of when to expect your reveal session where we will look through your photographs.

Artwork in Your Home
Prints & Wall Artwork – Our work is not done, images of your beautiful family grace your walls or and coffee tables. The true value of a photo session with unboxed is premium quality frames, canvases and albums that can be showcased in your home or shared with family near and far.

- Our reveal session is the first you will see the images, we will be there to help guide you towards the goals we set during your consultation
- You select images to go with appropriate print products. We will give you an indication when the prints will be ready.
- Your artwork will be delivered with optional fittings for mounting. We usually call on the same day or day after delivery to check on you and to remind you what artwork goes where (not that you will forget).
FAQs
01 / How long is the photo session?
Our family session typically lasts 90 minutes. This might seem like a lot, but we prefer to keep an unrushed peace, coupled with this, most families have a change of clothes in between. Other things to keep in mind – If attending our studio, you would need to arrive at least 15 minutes before your session time. If the session use at your home, we will require parking and 1 hour before the session time to set up and 1 hour after to pack down.
02 / How do I book a session?
A session can be book during or after your consultation. The free consultation helps us assess your needs and you assess off we are the right photographer for your family.
03 / What should we wear?
This depends on why you want your family photographed and we discuss this at your consultation. However, our general guidance is to avoid – branded clothing, thin stripes, clothing you are uncomfortable in, heavy or oily makeup. We encourage – traditional wear, family theme, one change of clothing. For younger children, afavourite toy or sporting item.
04 / How much does your service cost?
Another one for the consultation, we only discuss a fee when we are sure unboxed portraits is a fit for your family and certain our service will meet your needs.
05 / How many images will I get?
Our focus is beautiful images for your print products rather than a set number of images. We photograph for coverage – which is to ensure we have more than enough for those products (wall art & photobooks). Clients receive a digital copy of every printed image. 06 / How will I know what frame to get?
We are mindful that selecting images can be an ordeal, let alone selecting type wall art, size, print finish, glazing… the list can seem endless. At unboxed, we have a select range we recommend based on your needs. We are also able to accommodate clients who already know the size and type of product needed.
07 / Where is your studio located?
Our studio is located in name. We also host sessions in client’s homes, we review to make sure the home can accommodate our equipment.
08 / What if I have a baby?
We can photograph a baby as part of a family, however, we do not provide new born photography service.
